How (not) to encrypt biometric data

Biometric authentication has become a part of our everyday life, from unlocking our smartphone to passing through automated border control gates. But how secure is biometric authentication really? Is my passport image even encrypted? This talk will go into detail on the security of biometric authentication, and explain why encryption of biometric data is not as straightforward as we think it is. A short detour into post-quantum cryptography will be included in the talk.
